15.00 “A Blue Travel Diary” – a cyanotype workshop
Led by: Mr Chlorophyll Art – KaZek Biernat
Cyanotype is one of the noble photographic techniques which uses the photosensitivity of iron salts. In a darkroom or dimly lit room, paper or fabric is covered with a special solution, which creates a photosensitive surface with a yellow-green tint. After drying, the substrate is exposed to sunlight or under a lamp, using the contact method. Photos taken in this way do not require a print and have a characteristic shade – the so-called Prussian blue. Using this method, we return to 1843 and the figure of the British botanist Anna Atkins. During family workshops, we will learn about her works and make our own diaries of a young traveller in summertime colors of the sea and the sky.
This workshop is recommended for children aged 5 and over.
