On March 13th, 1943 the Germans liquidated the Krakow ghetto. The ghetto was functioning for two years, from March 1941. During this short period the prisoners went through various stages: from trying to adapt to new circumstances, through hope of recreating – however limited – their prewar lives, until the tragic stage of terror: deportations to death camps and mass executions.
This year, 80 years after the end of the Second World War, we would like to invite you to a guided tour commemorating the Jewish citizens of Krakow who were murdered at that time. We will take a closer look at the fates of women, whose lives were intertwined with these tragic events. We will present the stories of a few of them and discuss how their experiences differed from the experiences of men.
