Decades after they were forced to leave Poland as children, Anton and Mirjam — two elderly British-Jewish people — travel back to their country of birth to confront what is left of their memories.
“Wallpaper” is a reflection on how the history of Poland’s Jewish heritage, and its destruction, continues to resonate as new generations process its legacy. It delves into the intergenerational transfer of memory and the way stories shape our identities. The project was a finalist in the Pears Short Film Fund, organized by UK Jewish Film, and the Emerging Filmmaker Contest, run by The Claims Conference in the US. The film had a ‘sneak peek’ preview at the UK Jewish Film Festival 2024.

Tomasz Frymorgen is a writer-director born to Polish parents and raised in London. He has spent the last seven years working on documentaries for British broadcasters while also developing scripted film and television projects. Starting in 2025, he will study at the National Film and Television School in the UK.
Marta Fujak is a producer and screenwriter who has been associated with Polish TV network TVN for many years. She is also the co-owner of Fulika Studios. Her recent work includes producing a documentary series for HBO Max, “The Skin Hunters”. She has also worked on TVN productions such as the feature series “Bunt!” and the documentary “Aleppo. Notes from The Dark.” Her work extends to documentary series for Discovery+ like “UFO Witness”, “Suspicious Minds”, and “Inside The Heist.” “Wallpaper” marks her first independent production.
Katarzyna Szczęsna-Kasprzyk is a production manager and producer with two decades of experience in the Polish television industry, having worked on programs like “The Skin Hunters”, “Suspicious Minds”, and “Szóstka”. In 2021, Kasia co-founded Fulika Studios in Krakow with Marta Fujak, the company behind the production of “Wallpaper”.
The film will be screened in English with Polish subtitles.
