Tour list
The 3 hour tour around Kazimierz, its history and heritage. The tour focuses on the history, religion and culture of the Kraków’s Jews from the medieval ages till the present times. During the tour we will see:
- Szeroka Street with the active Remuh synagogue and the old Jewish cemetery
- Jewish Community Centre where Jewish life today concentrates
- New Square the heart of today’s Kazimierz
Old/Izaak’s/Tempel synagogue on request
Jewish life was for centuries concentrated in Kazimierz but its beginning was in the Kraków’s city centre. This is where the first Jewish district was. After restrictions on the Jews were lifted and they were granted equal citizen rights in the 19th c. some Jews returned to the city centre. This time it was where more assimilated and educated lived. During the tour we will see and hear:
- Place where the very first Jewish street was
- Former Jewish prayer houses around Old Town
- Stories about Jewish members of Kraków’s intelligentsia
History of Kraków’s ghetto told in places where it actually happened. The tour will cover the history of the most important institutions in the ghetto and places where the most terrible atrocities took place. During the tour we will see and hear stories of:
- Institutions: Judenrat, hospitals, orphanages, kindergarten and Jewish Social Self-Help Organisation
- Fragment of the ghetto wall
- Former Umschlagplatz and Pharmacy Under the Eagle
The area of former Konzentrationslager Krakau-Plaszow is now overgrown and almost empty. But traces of its terrible past are still visible. During the tour we will see:
- Villa of the camp’s commander Amon Goeth
- Relicts of the pre-burial hall and still visible tombstones of the pre-war Jewish cemeteries
- Mass execution sites
- Monuments
Tours around Podgórze and Płaszów can be combined in one 4 hour tour that will retrace Holocaust history in Kraków.
Schindler’s List had a huge impact on Kraków and Kazimierz. It can be said that it discovered Kazimierz and the history of Kraków’s Jews for the world. During this tour we will trace places where the movie was made and where Oskar Schindler lived in Kraków.

Jewish resistance in Kraków took many forms. From various acts of non-armed resistance: organizing prayers, schools, smuggling food to attacks on the Nazi soldiers. During the tour we will see:
- Headquarter of the Jewish Fighting Organization and places where fighters organized their meetings
- Places where people were meeting for secret prayers
- Place where the most famous attack of Jewish Fighting Organization took place
The tour tells the story of famous artists and architects in Kraków of Jewish origin and places where they lived or performed. During the tour we will see:
- The New Jewish Cemetery and tombstones of some of the greatest Jewish artists
- House of Mordechai Gebirtig, famous singer
- Building where Kraków’s Yiddish Theatre had been
