August 31 st , 2023 was the last day of Jakub Nowakowski’s work in the position of the Galicia Jewish Museum’s director. We are very grateful for the last 13 years of his leadership and we wish him all the best in his new location and new position!

In the meantime, the Museum’s Management Board organized the new director recruitment process with many strong and experienced candidates applying for this job. We are at the final stage of the process and the decision on the new director will be announced soon.

Starting September 1, during the transition period, it is the Management Board that will take director’s responsibilities. During this time the Museum will continue all its projects and will follow all the priorities that we have had. The Management Board together with the Museum’s Team will work closely with all the partners and sponsors. The recent director agreed to consult the transition with the new director on board.
