“The Future of the Past”. New Technologies and Commemorations

The development of technology and creation of innovative devices allowing us to document various spaces and create new forms of commemoration, are extremely important in studies on memory. The latest devices, especially digital tools, allow us to create a completely new layer of relations and borrowings, based on the already existing archives of memory. These processes also fuel the creation of new paradigms for the whole process of commemoration. On the possible forms of using digital tools in memory practices, we will be speaking a day after Yom HaShoah, April 18th.

This event is organized by FestivALT in cooperation with the Galicia Jewish Museum in Krakow.

This event is realized as part of the NeDiPa project: Negotiating Difficult Past, which is being conducted in cooperation with Fundacja Zapomniane and the Urban Memory Foundation thanks to the support of the EU as part of the program Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV).
