For many years, the Galicia Jewish Museum has been a partner of the largest festival devoted to Jewish culture held in Europe. During one week in June, Kraków’s district of Kazimierz transforms into a colorful, lively place filled with music and meetings of people from all over the world. Like every year, we are adding our share of events to the Festival program.
Among the events accompanying the Jewish Culture Festival, which are organized by the Galicia Jewish Museum, are lectures, discussions, guided tours, exhibition tours, and children’s workshops. All Festival guests will be welcome to explore the museum bookshop and our kosher Lauder Szancer Cafe.
During numerous debates, lectures, and discussions, we will host many distinguished guests, e.g. Anna Bikont, Prof. Jacek Leociak, Marta Grzywacz, Shana Penn and photographers: Ouriel Morgensztern and Agnieszka Traczewska.
As part of the 11th edition of “The Space of an Image. A Series of Films on Jewish Themes”, which is organized in cooperation with the Warsaw Jewish Film Festival and the Camera of David Foundation, we would like to invite you to screenings of seven films – both feature films and documentaries – which will take place in different spots around Kraków, e.g. Kino pod Baranami, BARAKAH Theatre, HEVRE, or the courtyard of the Museum of Engineering and Technology.
During the Jewish Culture Festival, an opening of a new temporary exhibition titled “Henryk Reiss Must Cease to Exist” will take place as well as a concert titled “Jewish Impressions” by two outstanding violinists: Lucjan Szaliński Bałwas and Marcin David Król.
