“TRAKL-TAT. An All-Polish Georg Trakl Poetry Contest” is a competition for poets whose work is inspired by the Austrian author. Georg Trakl (1887-1914) was a famous poet who died in Krakow during a key moment in world history: 1914, the time of the Great War. Given the context of his lifetime, Georg Trakl is not only a prominent poet, but also a symbol of a generational tragedy on a national and individual level.
The gala will include an awards ceremony where we will honour the laureates of the 9th poetry contest, as well as a theater performance entitled “TRAKL. BLOK”, directed by Paweł Bitka-Zapendowski.
