18-year-old Renia Spiegel, killed by the Germans in Przemyśl, left behind a diary that described her wartime experiences. Her sister Elizabeth Bellak kept the diary for years and only in the 2010s did the family decide to publish it, first in Polish in 2016 and then in English in 2019. Renia’s Diary has since been recognized as a powerful Holocaust testimony by a teenager robbed of her adulthood.

Now we have a special opportunity to meet Renia’s sister, Elizabeth, who will discuss her reflections about Renia and her own child-survivor experiences, together with the eminent historians, Prof. Natalia Aleksiun and Dr. Yehoshua Ecker.

In English, free admission.
