We would like to invite you to an online training session for teachers and educators, which will focus on how to work with video materials created by the Education and Art Foundation and the Galicia Jewish Museum, based on “Renia Spiegel’s Diary”.
The films are a combination of animation and acting scenes, and are a narrative built upon quotes from Renia’s diary. It is definitely not a documentary. The authors created an artistic image of the world which is described in Renia’s diary: a dreamlike world, far from being literal, however, a world which is a reflection of Renia’s emotions as well as the tragedy of historic events and their atmosphere. Each episode of the series is closed with an excerpt from an interview with Elizabeth Bellak, a Holocaust Survivor and Renia Spiegel’s sister. This interview was recorded in May 2023.
The project also includes training sessions for teachers and educators involved in formal and informal education. These sessions will take place online, on Zoom, on December 2nd, December 5th, or December 12th. Before the meetings the participants will receive links to all episodes of the film, so they can watch them in advance.
