Seven Beggars is a performance artwork created by visual artist Julie Weitz with Anna Lublina, Moriel Rothman-Zecher, Ira Khonen Temple, and Jerry Lieblich. The artwork will be staged as a weeklong event on the streets of Kazimierz and introduce audiences to a contemporary reimagining of The Seven Be- ggars, a famous hasidic tale by Rebbe Nachman of Breslov. The performances will take place daily from 27 June to 2 July 2023 during the Jewish Culture Festival in Krakow, as well as one night at The Galicia Jewish Museum on 2 July 2023. The corresponding exhibition will present a dynamic installation of performance ephemera, including props, costumes, drawings, and photographs.

The event is co-sponsored by Mid Atlantic Arts USArtists International in partnership with The National Endowment for the Arts and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and Trust for Mutual Understanding. Seven Beggars is also supported by Asylum Arts at The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life.
