Helena Rubinstein’s Krakow – a lecture by Dr. Edyta Gawron

In the second half of the 19th century, Krakow experienced many changes, and so did its citizens. For the Jewish community of the city, which made up 30% of all of its inhabitants, it was a time of new possibilities, but also new challenges. Among the changes, especially at the turn of the 19th and 20th century, there were especially those who influenced young women, their education and emancipation. Did Helena Rubinstein live to see these times? This is a lecture about the city, in which Helena Rubinstein was born, raised, and which she left.

This is an accompanying event to the exhibition “Helena Rubinstein. First Lady of Beauty”.

In Polish. Free admission.
