Cheder, yeshivah, Bet ha’Midrash – these are the words we usually use to describe Jewish education. But was it exclusively limited to such institutions? The schools attended by the Jewish citizens of our city before and after the war were far more diverse. During this city tour, we will tell the story of these schools and expand on Jewish education: the obligatory, religious, public, vocational, political, and university education— all of which are examples of the rapid change experienced by the Jewish citizens of our city.
