Guided tour of the site of the former German labor and concentration camp in Kraków – KL Plaszow

Starting point of the walk: in front of the information board next to the Grey House, at the intersection of Jerozolimska and Abrahama Streets

While visiting the site of the former German labor and concentration camp known as ZAL/KL Plaszow, we will learn about the history of the camp and its basic structure. Weather permitting, we will see the remains of the pre-war Jewish cemetery (which was razed to the ground during the Second World War) and the remains of the camp infrastructure. The tour will conclude with a discussion of the history of commemorating the victims of the of the camp and the ongoing project of the Plaszow KL Museum.

The walk will be led by Dr. Edyta Gawron – assistant professor in the Department of Jewish History at the Institute of Jewish Studies Institute of the Jagiellonian University
