Family Sunday: “Podhale oraz Orawa, Spisz i Pieniny. Przewodnik dla dużych i małych” (“Podhale and Orawa, Spisz and Pieniny. A Guide for Children and Adults”) – A meeting with authors of the book, Barbara Gawryluk and Paweł Skawiński
“Unique monuments, mysterious castles and fortresses, open-air ethnographic museums, abandoned villages, rushing rivers, unusual plants, and protected animals – you will find it all in the region surrounding Tatra Mountains in the south of Poland. We would like to invite you to a journey through Podhale, Spisz, Orawa, and Pieniny” – this is how Barbara Gawryluk, a journalist and writer, and Paweł Skawiński, the former director of the Tatra National Park, begin their new book.
What do “nine forces” look like? Who is a “honielnik”? What do black grouses do during mating season? Who is a “cepr”? What is the difference between a “moskole” and gałuski cuchane? Where is the City of the Children of the World? What are “talorki”? Why is Chochołów considered a live open-air ethnographic museum? What are the routes of the historic railway?
