Family Sunday: “Kraków. Przewodnik dla dużych i małych” (“Kraków: A Guide for Young and Old Ones”) – a meeting with Barbara Gawryluk and Łucja Malec-Kornajew, authors of the book

We will be taken on a trip to the royal city of Kraków by Barbara Gawryluk, a writer and Łucja Malec-Kornajew (also known as Detective Fishka), a tour guide through Kraków, as well as by Jadzia, the 12-year-old granddaughter of the Wawel bell-ringer.

“Kraków is of course historic monuments, churches, museums, prominent persons, and important events. Yes! But in our book we also want to show you Kraków which is full of trivia, mysteries, legends, fascinating nooks and crannies, and lots of green areas” – write the authors of the book.

Where in Kraków can we see a tomb of a vampiress? Who was Ferdinand the Great? What is the legend about Kraków’s pigeons? How many people do you need to rock the bell of Wawel? When is it best to listen to the St. Mary’s Trumpet Call? Who did Błonia belong to? And who designed the monument of the dog Dżok, and what does it have to do with the Wawel Dragon?

This event is part of the project “20 for 20. A Series of Meetings with 20 Authors for the Galicia Jewish Museum 20th Anniversary”. The project was financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland from the Fund for Promoting Culture.
