Kraków’s Kazimierz district is a magnificent, multidimensional, and versatile actor. Its talents were recognized by American documentary filmmakers as early as the first decades of the 20th century. Sadly, it was also exploited by the Germans during the war. In the post-war period, thanks to its unique character, it was frequently cast by Polish filmmakers as well. The most famous director to cast Kazimierz in a near-lead role was Steven Spielberg – we will also tell you about him during our film walk.
This is an accompanying event to the exhibition “Molly Superstar. Yiddish Comedy Cinema”.
