The Galicia Jewish Museum and the Institute of Jewish Studies at Jagiellonian University are launching a new series of meetings dedicated to the history, culture, and heritage of Jews in Galicia. Invited guests will examine familiar stories, places, and phenomena from new perspectives, reflecting on memory, identity, and the significance of Jewish heritage today.

The speakers at the first meeting will be Prof. Andrzej Chwalba, Prof. Jacek Purchla, and Prof. Michał Galas (Jagiellonian University). The session will be moderated by Dr. Karolina Koprowska and Dr. Katarzyna Suszkiewicz.

We invite you to join us in considering how to research and narrate the history of Jews in Galicia in the 21st century. What sources and research perspectives remain untapped? How can we preserve the memory of this rich tangible and intangible heritage—not only synagogues, cemeteries, and archives, but also the literature, art, music, language, traditions, and daily lives of these past communities?

In Polish. Free admission.
