Contemporary Jewish Places and Stories
Kraków & Warszawa

Thanks to the collaboration of the Galicia Jewish Museum with partner organizations and with the support and trust of the Dutch Jewish Humanitarian Fund, we are pleased to present unique maps of Kraków and Warsaw as well as guidebooks to these two cities. These maps are the result of conversations with representatives of the local Jewish communities and they highlight places and objects important to contemporary Jewish people in Kraków and Warsaw.

Project of a map of contemporary Jewish communities

While there are many maps and guidebooks depicting historical and tourist-frequented sites, their authors often focus primarily on the past and memorials. The aim of this project is to present contemporary life, the diversity of Jewish communities, and to provide a fresh perspective on the urban spaces of Kraków and Warsaw.

We would like to thank wholeheartedly all the people from the Kraków and Warsaw Jewish communities who shared their stories.

Stories collected and edited by: Patrycja Dołowy (Warsaw) and Olga Adamowska (Kraków)
