Curatorial guided tour: “Helena Rubinstein. First Lady of Beauty” (finissage of the exhibition)

When asked about her youth in the district of Kazimierz, Helena Rubinstein mentioned an address of a house at Szeroka Street. But, in reality, the Rubinstein family often changed their place of living and rented smaller and smaller apartments. Together with the curators of the exhibition, we will follow the route of the Rubinsteins through Krakow’s Jewish district. We will see in which tenement houses of Kazimierz the future “First Lady of Beauty” was raised, where was the school that she attended, and where was the shop of her house located. The guided tour will end at a cemetery at Miodowa Street, where we found the tombstone marking the grave of Gitel Sheyndel Rubinstein, Helena’s mother.
