We would like to inform you that Dr. Jacek Stawiski will be stepping down as Director of the Galicia Jewish Museum at the end of October 2025. This decision was made jointly by the Board of the Galicia Jewish Heritage Institute Foundation and Dr. Stawiski. We are grateful for Mr. Stawiski’s contribution to the development of the Museum, and we wish him every success in his future endeavors.

During the transitional period, the Museum will be managed by its experienced team and the Museum’s Board. From November 1, 2025, Tomasz Strug, currently the Deputy Director and Chief Curator of the Museum, will become the acting Director. For over twenty years, Mr. Strug has been closely associated with the Galicia Jewish Museum and has contributed to its growth and achievements. Both the Board and the Museum team remain fully committed to the Museum’s regular activities, which we will continue to report on.

The Board of the Galicia Jewish Heritage Institute Foundation will make a decision regarding a possible competition for the Director’s position, and details will be announced publicly in due course.
