This year the State of Israel celebrates the 75th anniversary of its independence. Over the years, the country has experienced tremendous political, social, and cultural changes, wars, regional and global turmoil, and the influx of immigrants from different parts of the globe.
We will talk with our guests about these changes, attempting to portray the Jewish state, modern Israelis, their approach to democracy and nationhood, and the evolution of Zionism from an abstract dream to the idea on which the modern state is based. What challenges have been overcome, and what challenges still face Israel? This will be discussed by Prof. Joanna Dyduch, Konstanty Gebert, and Dr. Artur Skorek.
Moderation: Jakub Katulski
