Since this year is the Galicia Jewish Museum’s 20th anniversary, on the 20th day of each month we would like to invite you to a unique guided tour through our exhibitions.

In September, we would like to invite you to a guided tour led by the Galicia Jewish Museum educator, Viktoriia Mudrytska.

Houses of Eternity. Jewish Burial Customs
Why can we see carvings of lions, deer, candleholders, and trees on Jewish tombstones? Why do Jews put stones on tombstones? What are matzevot, and what are their characteristics? What did the Nazis do with Jewish cemeteries in Krakow during the occupation, and where did a part of the matzevot go after the war? We will answer these questions during a guided tour through the permanent exhibition of the Galicia Jewish Museum.
