“From the Auschwitz Chronicle” is a series of documentaries which are an attempt to preserve and attempt to settle the tragic memory of inhumanity that occured in the Auschwitz-Birkenau camp in Oświęcim.
Excerpts from the chronicle and survivor testimonies are intertwined to create five different film narratives. The documentary series highlights that there is no universal experience of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp; each of the former prisoners have their own truth which can differ from the truth of his camp inmate.
During this event, we will screen two of the first episodes of the series: „Najdłuższy apel” (“The Longest Roll-Call”) and „Orkiestra” (“The Orchestra”). The screenings will be preceded by a meeting with the director of the documentary, Michał Bukojemski, who will speak about the process of creating the film and will answer the questions from the audience.
