The Galicia Jewish Museum is beginning a new project devoted to individual stories of Jewish women from different European countries. Together, with our partners from Germany, Greece, Hungary, and Spain, we will be creating educational materials based on Jewish women biographies, depicting the similarities and differences between their lots in different countries. The project is aimed at sharing interviews, documents, photographs, and tips on how to use them in education on Jewish history and the Holocaust to educators, teachers, museum employees, and all those who are interested in this field. As part of the project, other activities will be organized: creation of an exhibition, leading seminars for teachers, workshops, and a contest for teenagers. In January, the first meeting of representatives of all partner institutions was held in Berlin. The Galicia Jewish Museum was represented by Dr. Katarzyna Suszkiewicz, Education Department Manager. During a two-day conference, next stages of the project were discussed as well as expected results. There was also time for getting to know the history of the Jewish community in Berlin and getting to know educational materials by Centropa, who is the strategic partner of the Galicia Jewish Museum and was the host of the meeting.
This project is realized with the support of the European Commission.
