Many aspects of pre-Second World War Jewish life have been described, most often from the religious, cultural, or societal perspective. This walking tour will focus on the aspect of Jewish life which is least often explored: the economic situation, one which has been made a very complicated issue since the Jewish community included some of the wealthiest businessmen, common craftsmen and merchants, as well as the poorest citizens, whose work was often in the gray area. All of them made a mark on the history of the city.
