The story of the district of Kazimierz can be told in many ways. You can divide it into the Christian and Jewish sections... But you can also tour a different and unconventional route which connects these two very different worlds. The route of the tour will go through thoroughfares, squares, and back streets which, beginning in the 19th century, were accessible to all citizens of Kazimierz. Did this loss of barriers impact Christian-Jewish relations, and, later, Polish-Jewish relations? Can we speak of a Jewish district in the 19th and 20th centuries? Do Christian and Jewish districts of Kazimierz still exist today? We would like to invite you to a tour around the monuments of the whole district of Kazimierz, during which we will try to answer these questions.
In Polish, free admission.
