SoRyang began playing the piano at the age of five. At the age of 16, she left Seoul, South Korea, and pursued piano studies in the class of Professor Detlef Kraus at the FOLKWANG-Musikhochschule in Essen, Germany, graduating with a degree as a concert pianist. She received the first special prize at the International Brahms Competition in Hamburg. Afterwards, SoRyang went to Vienna and graduated with a Master of Arts at the University of Music and Performing Arts.
As a well-known interpreter of Mozart, she regularly presents his piano works all over the world, in cities such as Vienna, New York, Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Barcelona, London, Rome, and Berlin. SoRyang has also played piano concerts with different orchestras, such as Folkwang Orchestra Essen and Austrian-Korean Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Princeton University Orchestra, Shanghai Conservatory of Music Orchestra, National Music Academy in Sofia. Among other things, she has repeatedly performed with members of the Vienna Philharmonic throughout Europe. In addition, she became known through some of her piano compositions which had been selected for adaptations of old silent films at the Vienna film festival "VIENNALE".
